South African couple Don and Sue Smyth were one of the first residents at Langham Homes’ Pavilion Park development in Hurst Lane, East Molesey back in 2019 when they purchased their three-bedroom, three-bathroom home with carport.
Having lived in Switzerland for several years, Don and Sue then moved to an apartment in Hampton Court that they enjoyed but were really missing the lack of outdoor space.
Sue says: “We always knew that we wanted to buy a new home as we travel regularly so were looking for a property that we could easily “lock up and leave” but were also keen to be part of a thriving, local community. Having lived happily in Hampton Court, we were keen to pre-register our interest as soon as we heard that Langham Homes was building in Hurst Lane which is just a short drive away. Once the show home was ready, we went to view it and the first impressions of Pavilion Park were of a leafy, mature setting which we loved. We were also very impressed by the quality of finish, something we hadn’t always seen on other new build properties and thought the kitchen and bathrooms were fabulous; modern and stylish.
We have found many like-minded people here and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have so many lovely neighbours who have been so kind to us, particularly during the pandemic when we have been isolating and have organised our shopping and even mowed the lawn for us.
Apart from travelling, Don and I love to entertain so we have created a large outdoor kitchen and dining area, perfect for socialising and now that the Covid regulations have been relaxed, we look forward to hosting as many braais, (South African for BBQ) as we can.
All in all, we couldn’t be happier and would like to express our grateful thanks to Tony and Lesley Pidgley and their team at Langham Homes who were so kind and considerate to us when we first moved into the development in the early days when it was still a building site. If we ever look to move elsewhere and we certainly don’t intend to in the short term, we will definitely be on the lookout for another Langham home.”
